For the neighbors at Weatherbury, a small village in the british countryside, Bathsheba Everden is the new girl in town. She is a young, beautiful, vain, polite, and independent lady that comes from a wealthy family. In the new village, Miss Everden is introduced to three suitors: Gabriel Oak, a humble shepherd; Mr. William Woldwood, a wealthy gentleman; and Francis Troy, a handsome sergeant.

The story it's about who and how will Bathesheba decide to engage with. Nevertheless, the very essence and value of the novel lies in his author. Thomas Hardy delineates the characters, their appearance and innermost thoughts and feelings, and the surrounding atmosphere in the most delicate way.

"Far from the madding crowd" is a book of slow movements, unending dawns, green prairies caressed by the dew, profound conversations, unforgettable walks, and meaningful gazes. For the reader every character is real, every place exists. In this great novel elegance can be touched in between every line.
